Welcome!

Italia

On the slopes between Marsala and Mazara del Vallo, on the western side of the island, lies Assuli. The vineyards and the cellars are located in the westernmost side of the island, almost 130 wholly-owned hectares, in an area of magical beauty.

The focus is respect and appreciation for the land, which for centuries has offered the perfect habitat for the cultivation of vines. The careful understanding of each pedoclimatic feature contributes to the creation of exclusive wines: the passion that Assuli winemakers exhibit for their products really deserves its own mention. Throughout its history, spanning 3 generations, the Caruso family has always managed the business directly, making innovative and sometimes courageous choices, but always maintaining an unwavering respect for tradition and the land.

Sicilia

Land

Nature, with its rhythms, is the key to understanding Assuli. The recovery of an ancient baglio - the result of the painstaking and detailed restoration using local, ecological and natural materials - is the first step towards that sustainability always pursued in the vineyard and in the cellar. Each vintage, each soil, expresses the search for a constant increase in attention to the vine ecosystem, so that it is as balanced as possible in order to work at its best.

Vineyards

The quality control of the wines is continuous, following the organic discipline from the plant to the bottle. And today Assuli completely embodies the principle of identity of the land of origin, by promoting the production of traditional Sicilian grapes: Nero d’Avola, Zibibbo, Insolia, Lucido, Grillo, Perricone. The cultivation fully respects the principle of organic production according to strict standards and can boast the Denominazione di Origine Controllata 'Sicilia' designation.

Clima

The sun, the light, the strong minerality of the land, the scents of the Mediterranean carried by the wind are reflected in bottles with great personality. The wines are characterized by a style marked by winemaker Lorenzo Landi who believes in the excellence of the grapes, enhancing the expressive power of the vines and manages to produce impeccable wines by enhancing the territorial originality: delicate, fresh or savoury whites reminiscent of the sea, reds with a stronger and more decisive character, influenced by heat and wind.

Relic vines

Space for innovation under the flag of territoriality also with the "relic vines" recovered thanks to an ambitious experimental project including micro-winemaking which shows witness to the island’s extraordinary biodiversity. 14 relic varieties, about 600 grafts placed in as many plants: the desire to dig into the past and bring to light forgotten varieties that we will soon be able to savour.

Label collection

The completely renewed label collection also encapsulates the richness of the Sicilian imagination: the visual identity is rooted in the past as each wine refers to the characters from the famous chivalric poem Orlando Furioso from which it is inspired and express a new, contemporary and completely unprecedented Sicilian oenological dimension.

The novelty

Fiordispina, the Rosato 100% Perricone introduces Assuli to the 'rosé' category. Barely born, it has already attracted attention: after the silver medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and the bronze medal at the Vinitaly Design International Packaging Competition, the 90-point Falstaff diploma arrived.

Perricone is a gem among Sicilian grape varieties, so Assuli presents another interpretation for this grape variety, which joins t he expressiveness of Furioso, the first Perricone in purity aged for 12 months in large oak barrels, and the recent Fiordispina, in a pink version. Thus Arcodace, was created, another Perricone in purity aged entirely in steel containers for 4-5 months.
